My lovely couple Pooja and Martt reached out to me in August last year, and I was delighted to help them! They had a lovely connection which was very evident in all of our chats and exchanges, and I was excited to create something really special for them both.
Having booked the gorgeous Minly Manor for their day of celebrations, I discovered that the ceremony with me would be the very start of the day (9:00am) and would be followed by breakfast on the lawns, and then an Indian ceremony in the fabulous Mandhap in the Dutch Gardens at the back of the manor house by the orangery. It really is a wonderful venue and with the ceremony taking place on Wellingtonia Avenue, with the beautiful Sequoia trees as our backdrop it was going to be an incredible day!
Over the months that we were creating the ceremony, it was agreed that we would tell their story in the form of a personally written poem, which included details about their first meeting, their dates, their lovely little sausage dogs Rolo and Fudge, and of course, their build up to their day.
On the morning of their wedding, I arrived to blue skies and sunshine, and a scene of suppliers all putting finishing touches to the spaces. It was wonderful to see them using multiple areas within the setting as it really is a space to be showcased. Their guests were in for a real treat!
Having checked the space, chatted to the other suppliers, the bride and her bridal party and the groom and best men, it was time to welcome their loved ones into the space. Admist lots of gasps and excited chatter, we got everyone seated and ready to welcome the bridesmaids and the bride and her parents.
The groom wanted to watch them all coming into the space and was clearly emotional seeing his lovely bride at the top of the aisle. She looked incredible, a vision in her amazing gown, and flowing veil. Unbeknown to him, the bride had arranged for their special song to be played and sung by their singer, which just added to the moment and brought emotional tears too.
I took time to settle them both, now united at the front, and seated all of their guests. These two lovebirds opted not to have any readings, but to keep things simple and focused on their story and their achievements together. They have such fun as a pair and it was important to convey this throughout. After a welcome, and some words on what marriage means to them both, I delivered their unique poem and it was very well received indeed!
In the meantime though, and in in March 2022
Matt’s brother’s dogs had lots of puppies, they wanted one too!
So along came the lovely Rolo, joining the household you see
They went from a couple to a little family of three!
When I met this pair I loved their energy, Oh wow!
Not just two humans but two dogs there were now.
On the day they were married Pooja gave Matt a nudge
Off they then went to collect little ‘Fudge’!
With everyone in high spirits and feeling the love, we moved on to the couple's vows and ring exchange, with some emotional moments and lots of love and laughter. Everyone there was in support of these two and despite being outside and without any walls around us, it felt intimate and the seating arrangements provided a big warm hug.
As we brought things to a wonderful conclusion and presented them back to their guests, the music played and the voice of the very talented Abigail accompanied them back down the aisle. What a wonderful start to the day, and from what I could see afterwards, everyone was ready to have a great party! Smoke bombs, flares, music, and great food all followed and I hope these two lovely people had the best day.
Congrats Pooja and Matt!
