Caroline and Sergio were our celebrant Tracy's friends, so when she was asked to help them with their wedding celebrations, it was the easiest yes ever!
Conversations started in March and we quickly established the feel of their big day, building a very special ceremony script around their requirements, and offering suggestions for some unique touches.
As things evolved, we all agreed that their story should be conveyed in the form of a unique poem written especially for them, and so writing for this began. We sent a recording of it being read and adapted it over a few weeks until it flowed perfectly and felt like just the right tone for their day.
"This story, it starts back in 1998,
An instant attraction, but they both had to wait.
Spotting Sergio where he worked in an Italian Café,
She popped in after the school run, for coffee one day."
After a venue visit with Tracy, preparations were completed and the day came around very quickly indeed! With blue skies and sunshine forecast, Tracy was surprised to see clouds that morning, but things soon turned around. Having helped with set up and prep on the morning of the wedding, things were soon in place for the guests to arrive. Sergio, the groom, was super helpful, looking very dapper in his wedding day attire, and very excited about seeing his beloved Caroline.
As the space filled with their nearest and dearest, Tracy got a message that the bride was leaving for the venue, and just as she did, the skies cleared and sunshine took the place of the clouds. It was quite the moment and one that signalled the beginning of a wonderful day.
The ceremony space was set outside at this wonderful venue which sits right on the river Thames, on its very own island and was adorned with lemons and foliage, as a firm nod to Sergio's Sicilian heritage. It looked beautiful.
With welcome messages delivered, Tracy received the cue to begin and with music playing, guests took to their feet and Caroline and her wedding party entered the ceremony space. Sergio's face was full of love, and both were quite overwhelmed with the moment and delighted to be reunited. Caroline looked sensational, and everyone's eyes were on her as she joined her groom at the front.
The wedding party included Caroline's daughter and Sergio's two daughters, and she was accompanied in by her father Bernard.
Tracy began the ceremony and welcomed everyone, creating a wonderful atmosphere, and ensuring that everyone felt relaxed and ready to enjoy what was about to happen.
This day was all about love, family, and the fun and friendship that the union between Caroline and Sergio brings. They are such a caring and kind couple, and they bring light and smiles aplenty to whoever they are with.
Two readings were shared during the ceremony, and we spoke about what marriage means to this lovely couple. Then came their love story. A tale of sliding doors moments, a move that meant they lost touch for many years, but one that shows that love always wins. It went down a storm and had guests commenting afterward about how memorable it was. It was lovely to share their story and to recap on their journey together in such a unique and personal way.
"Something special was in a box, inside another box you see,
Caroline opened it to find him down on one knee!
The moment was magical it had been expertly staged,
From that moment on, these two were engaged!
."
With vows and rings then shared, and a nod again to Italian roots, and the reasoning behind the exchange of rings at a wedding, these two celebrated all that they have achieved with a kiss and a huge round of applause!
They signed their wedding day certificate with the help of their lovely witnesses, and Tracy presented them back to their loved ones to much cheering and more applause.
It was an incredible start to their wedding, and the party afterwards was one to remember! As the sun went down, this couple enjoyed every moment celebrating.
We wish you both love and happiness in your future together Caroline and Sergio, and thank you for allowing us to play a small part in your big day.
