Lakeside Ceremony in Newton Blossomville

My "office" this afternoon was a beautiful lakeside setting in the little village of Newton Blossomville.  Apart from having a super pretty name, this quaint countryside location was home to a splendid barn venue and some amazing views across open fields.

My bride today is originally from my current home town, but moved up to Milton Keynes with her fiancé, and they began planning their wedding together, choosing this location because they wanted a stunning rustic outdoor ceremony.  They had full use of the venue, with the ceremony outdoors by the lake, then drinks on the lawns with marquees offering shade (and housing a fabulous bar made by the groom!), and the wedding breakfast and reception inside the gorgeous oak beamed barn.

To say that today was a wonderful example of a DIY wedding done well was an understatement.  The effort and time taken in creating all of the little details was astounding.  This couple know how to get crafty! The bride made her own stunning dress (I cannot wait to reveal images of this!) and they put their own touches to signage, the ceremony area, and lots of little imaginative items of décor around the venue.  It was a cracker of a wedding!

We had a really personal ceremony with two readings (one was a duet!) and a fab handfasting using handcrafted cords in the couples key colours of green and gold.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with this pair and seeing everything come to fruition for the today was amazing!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Mayoll. . .and yes, I would love to do a baby naming for you (should you ever have such a requirement!) :)

(It's always a huge compliment when the bride asks you to do this for them after having done a great job on their wedding!)
