I am so happy for my couple that decided to renew their vows after 11 years of adventures, happy memories and some pretty huge achievements.
When I first met with my couple at their venue (a lovely little local pub complete with mini-farm!), they were keen to have a celebration that acknowledged their family, a large blended family unit where everyone supports one another, so that was where I started with my writing.
I created a lovely little ceremony that touched on their story, celebrated their family, acknowledged special friends and included all of their grandchildren and the children of some close family friends.
Having discovered that these two lovely people enjoy all things Greece related, including annual holidays, they love the food and the ambience, it was no surprise to see this carried through in their special day too!
With Greek flags adorning the fabulous little local pub, greek food for everyone afterwards, a gorgeous blue ombre cake, and the lovely Lisa in her amazing blue dress, it all looked lovely.
The pub was full to bursting with people that love these two incredible people, so much so, that we had to accommodate some behind the bar - a very novel spot for watching this special ceremony!
As Lisa arrived to a huge welcoming round of applause, I could see her emotions building and as she joined Russ they fell into a big embrace and held hands throughout the whole ceremony.
So clearly in love, it was important for me to ensure that everyone joined in the ceremony, so we asked all of their loved ones to make some promises too, and the couple then shared some beautiful vows.
With family at the forefront of this celebration, we asked all of the grandchildren to come up to the front with the couple's new rings, and we talked about what these new pieces of jewellery represented.
As I declared that their vows had now been renewed, a huge cheer went around the room, and I presented them with a lovely keepsake certificate of this special day.
They then joined their family and friends for a drinks reception, followed by a sumptuous Greek dinner with tables beautifully decorated with lemons and olive springs and garlands.
What an incredible couple, a lovely family and a wonderful celebration.
Thanks Lisa and Russ for being amazing, and for allowing me to be a small part of your big day!
