Friends Wed at the Woolpack!

The sun shone on these two lovely people who tied the knot in a very special and very personal ceremony today.  They chose a wonderful pub nestled in the Surrey countryside to host their day, and it looked beautiful!

Set just by the green in Elstead, this quaint little pub, was filled with those closest to our bride and groom, all there to share in the joy and bear witness to the words exchanged during their ceremony.

I have known the bride for some years now, and got to know her groom over the past few months as we created a beautiful ceremony together.  They were keen to have a relaxed atmosphere, with an upbeat delivery of their special words, and we absolutely nailed it!

I was honoured to lead their ceremony, and we welcomed everyone that came to be with them, acknowledged those that sadly couldn't be there, and then began to paint a picture of how these two met, how a bond was quickly forged.

These two are such a sociable pair and we recounted how they have grown together, how they have weathered storms together and how they celebrate successes and support one another without question.

"Simon says that Debbie's sense of humour and her laughter is infectious.  He admits to falling in love with her straight away

and says he couldn't be happier now that she is in his life"

The bride's sister and the couple's close friend came up to share readings (one by Bob Marley, and the other song lyrics from a Madness song), and after we told this pair's love story, there were emotional tears as well as laughter throughout the room.  You could just feel how much these two were loved by their closest family and friends, and it was great to be able to share stories and hear some really lovely personal words from the couple too.

I concluded the ceremony to a room full of smiling happy faces and (as we were in a pub!) we had a toast to the happy couple in place of confetti.  They walked back up the aisle with a glass of fizz in hand and then rejoined their guests for hugs and cheers of congratulations.

All of their guests then spilled outside for drinks in the sunshine and then returned inside for a beautiful wedding breakfast.
