As a celebrant, I have had the pleasure of working in some truly wonderful venues, but it's the ceremony area, or 'altar' that I find most fascinating. Lots of my couples have been extremely creative, and I have seen arches made from branches, flower walls, decorative doors, and some stunning structures adorned with all manner of decorations, but if you are positioned outside for your nuptuals, don't be afraid to use a natural backdrop too.
You could position your seating so that the countryside views, or the beautiful old tree in the grounds, become the 'decoration' to your ceremony setting. If you are opting to create your own 'altar', make sure it is on a moveable structure so that you can transfer it to other areas throughout your wedding and carry the theme through your day. For example, a decorative arch at the end of your aisle, could perfectly frame your top table for the wedding breakfast, or become a great area for photos with props in the evening.
There are lots of ways in which to put your stamp on your wedding, and including your ceremony setting can be a great way to ensure your personalities are reflected throughout this special celebration.
Do it your way and make it unforgettable.
