Why Knight Ceremonies
Established in 2014, we have grown into a thriving team of experienced and knowledgeable celebrants.
We cover the South of England and destination weddings predominantly, and are preferred and trusted suppliers at many venues and settings.
As a team, we have a great depth of knowledge and experience, as well as availability, should cover be required.
Couples can also choose the person with whom they have the best connection with and we guide them through the whole process. You really get to know the person that you are working with and have direct access to them. We welcome all couples, are completely inclusive, and will put you at ease.
What is an Independent Celebrant?
A celebrant is an officiant who will write and conduct a ceremony that is all about YOU.
There are no restrictions regarding content, style, format, time of day, or religious/faith-based inclusions.
You really can celebrate your marriage your way and in a setting that is meaningful to you.

Church ceremony

Registrar – SIGNING ONLY at your local office for £50 (takes 8 mins and requires 2 witnesses)

Registrar – CEREMONY AT THEIR OFFICES for around £400 (includes the two legal aspects as above plus a templated ceremony – 15 mins)

Registrar – AT YOUR VENUE they charge upwards of £800 usually, and this is as above, 15 mins, and is a templated ceremony with your choice of traditional, semi-traditional, or non-traditional wording

Celebrant & Registrar – HYBRID ceremony (they open the ceremony and carry out their two legal parts then leave and we take over). You pay for two officiants which makes it more expensive and it can feel disjointed, BUT it is possible

Celebrant Ceremony – this works alongside options 2 AND 3 (the legal signing at the registration service, and/or the ceremony at their offices too) and as the two legal parts are then completed, you can have your personal wedding ceremony anywhere, at any time, and completely free of restrictions. It is then written for you and is a bespoke celebration of your marriage. It can have vows, rings, kiss etc as these are all ceremonial and NOT legal aspects. It is a memorable ceremony and unique to you.

Commitment Ceremony - this is often required if the couple prefers not to do the legal aspects, and just wants to celebrate their commitment (and possibly intentions to marry in the future). We have had couples where divorce papers have not been finalised in time and the legal aspects have therefore not been completed so to avoid losing their venue and all that has been booked, we create a ceremony that reflects this stage of their relationship and their clear intentions to marry.

Civil Partnership - this is a legal relationship between two people that gives them similar rights and responsibilities to marriage and is carried out by a registrar. We have created ceremonies to celebrate this, which allows family and friends to celebrate with the couple in the same way as a wedding day might normally.

Writing scripts and officiating weddings, vow renewals, and Naming and re-naming ceremonies. If a friend or family member is conducting your ceremony for you, we can write the script and offer any coaching on delivery and management on the day too!

How to truly personalise your wedding ceremony:
With an independent celebrant (like the team at Knight Ceremonies), you can help to really shape the ceremony, so that it then reflects you both perfectly.
We write from scratch, we learn all about you, we find out what style of ceremony YOU WANT, and we write with you in mind, and share as much about your relationship and your journey as you wish.
You can include elements of any culture, heritage, faith, or belief system. We can inject your personalities into it too, with fun elements, surprises, and we get everyone involved, so it becomes memorable and interactive.
