Spring Celebrations at the Talbot (Ripley)!

A blog from my team member Laura. . .

"On Saturday 3rd May, at the Talbot Inn in the beautiful village of Ripley, at around 1.30 pm I pulled into the car park, the sun was shining, and I was excited for my first wedding of this season!

I gathered myself and my equipment and went to set up the Surrey Barn ready for the ceremony. The barn looked beautiful with white flowers, candles and twinkling lights entwined in ivy strands with a big wicker heart hanging on the curtains behind where we would be standing in just a couple of hours.

I popped up to see Amy, who was staying in the hotel with her two bridesmaids, her sister Nicola, and Best Friend Corrine. She had her makeup already on and was having her hair done. She was happy and calm and excited for the day ahead, as well as looking beautiful!

I then went back down to the ceremony space to make sure it was set the way we wanted it for our ceremony and to find the Wedding and Events manager Krystyna, who is an absolute asset to the Talbot Inn, she knows weddings inside and out and will do anything and everything to help a couple get their dream day!

When Tony and his family arrived, I made sure to greet him as I knew he was going to be nervous! He was doing well but admitted it had been a long morning 'waiting' and he'd wished he'd played a round of golf to help keep the nerves at bay!! The couple’s son Oliver looked very cute in a dapper little suit, and Tony's older children, Charlotte and Tom, looked splendid for their Dad and Amy’s big day too.

Shortly before the time we were due to start, we gathered everyone in the ceremony space and Krystyna went to get Amy and her Bridesmaids. Adam, Amy's brother, emotionally walked her down the aisle to meet Tony and the ceremony began!

Tracey, Tony's sister, read a beautiful poem by an unknown author called ‘Love isn’t always perfect’, and I shared the couple's love story. We gave a nod to Tony's mum, Sylvia, by calling him Anthony for all the formal bits as she would prefer that for him all the time!

They shared their vows and exchanged rings, before Charlotte and Sophie joined them to sign their wedding day certificate, and I had the privilege to present them to their guests at the end of their ceremony.

After spending a few quiet moments together, the couple were greeted by their guests in the courtyard with a bubble arch, which I'm sure has produced some fun pictures! The guests then went over to the Talbot's garden to enjoy some canapes and the gorgeous sunshine!

I joined all the guests for a group photo in the garden before heading off to leave Amy, Tony, and their guests to celebrate and enjoy a party.

I'd like to wish them a wonderful marriage, I know their life ahead will be full of many wonderful adventures with their family!

Congratulations Amy and Tony!

Love from Laura x"
