Four Seasons in one Day at Myrtles Courtyard for Avril & Paul!

My couple were just the loveliest, and were planning a super outdoor wedding at the stunning Hamptons Estate at Myrtles Courtyard.

The planning was many months in the making, and during a venue visit with the couple and some of their suppliers, I could see how all of their ideas were going to come to fruition, and it was really exciting! With everything signed off, the day arrived, and the weather was the focus for everyone. Initially, it was due to be dry and sunny, but as the days ticked by, the forecast changed, and rain was due at the time of the ceremony.

I arrived to see huge grey clouds in the sky, but we were all projecting positive vibes, and carried on setting up regardless. Sadly, just before guests were due to arrive, the rain came, as did thunder, and we all took cover and waited it out. The DJ was incredible, and then helped me set up my PA system in super quick time, and was on hand to manage music.

Things improved, and the sun did make an appearance, and so we began welcoming guests into the meadow and into the ceremony setting. It looked gorgeous, with a fabulous flower aisle created by the couple's florist.

With all of their nearest and dearest settled, the rain did come again, but this time only lightly, and so when the bride pulled into the venue, we were ready to spring into action. I had a moment with the wedding party to soothe a few nerves and to run through details for their entry, and I returned to the meadow to await cues from their planner. With groomsmen flanking us on one side, the bridesmaids joined us and, in perfect symmetry, flanked us on the other side. As the bride came into view, I made sure the groom was turned away and gave him the nod just as she reached the top of the aisle, and we all saw the emotion on his face, and how sensational she looked as she joined us all by the huge Oak Tree.

With everyone facing their guests, we celebrated now that the couple was reunited at the front, and took a few moments to acknowledge their loved ones, to share what marriage means to the couple, and to set the tone for this celebratory ceremony. Everyone was so excited, and as I looked around, there was a sea of smiling faces, all invested in what was happening, and clearly so delighted for these two lovely people.

We had a wonderful reading from the groom's sister, and I shared details of the couple's love story, including details about their amazing dog 'Barbara Streisand' (or 'Babs' as she is affectionately known). Before the couple shared vows and exchanged rings, we had a little sand ceremony, which was symbolic of their two families uniting. Despite the now high winds, we successfully created a wonderful keepsake which was put on display for all to see at their reception. It was such a lovely moment!

Their loved ones witnessed the couple sharing secret vows, and then exchanging their rings, and then they signed their certificate with the help of the Groom's parents. It was a completely love-filled and happy celebration, and despite all of the challenges with the weather, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, and they were chatting about it long after the couple had walked back up the aisle, showered in confetti.

I wish Avril and Paul much love and happiness for their future together with little Babs, and know they will have such amazing adventures for many years to come.

Jenny x
