Today was a lovely day. I got to see my great friend get married, and then I got to conduct her personal ceremony too.

It was the first time that I had worked with the registration service in this way and it was lovely. I witnessed my friends saying their legal declarations and exchanging their vows, and then the registrars handed over to me to conduct all of their personal elements.

It was such an honour to tell their story, to share how wonderful it is that my friend has met such a wonderful partner, and to provide them with a bespoke second ceremony. They shared personal vows (simultaneously!) and then exchanged their rings. I also detailed elements of their journey thus far, and got to confirm their union and present them to all of their loved ones and the new Mr & Mrs. Just wonderful.

I wish Jacqueline and Mark a future full of love and happiness.
