GDPR Compliant

In simple terms, being GDPR compliant means that I have understood and promise to abide by the rules with regards the collection and sharing of personal data. 

Typically though, as a celebrant, I only collect contact details for the purpose of reaching you during the creative process, and of course to communicate leading up to your big day.  I do not have a database, nor do I send our mailings so all information that I do have is crucial to carrying out my business service.  We both sign a contract so that you know what is expected of you, and indeed what to expect of me.  Within this is a clause with regards the sharing of imagery and/or video from your big day, and by signing this, you agree to me using these on social media for the purposes of promoting my business services.  

Below are the more formal details outlined for your reference:

PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy applies to my information collection and use practices: (i) online when you visit my website and (ii) offline when you provide information to me. Acceptance of Terms By visiting my Website and providing your personal details, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy. By providing me your information offline, you are also agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

The Information I Collect In the course of operating the Website and/or interacting with you, I will collect the following types of information.

1. Personal Information

Following a consultation and during the booking process, you will be required to provide personal information about yourself. I do not collect any personal information from Visitors when they use the Website unless they provide such information voluntarily, such as by sending a contact form or email, or subscribing to receive further information from me. All information I collect and/or receive under this section is collectively called “Personal Information”, which includes some or all of the following: • Your name • Your email address • Your phone number • Your location • Your Skype Name • Your availability

2. Billing Information

When you wish to purchase my services, you will receive details for payment on my booking form. At no point do I receive your bank or card details as this is a BACS transfer made by you to Knight Ceremonies. I do not collect this information or store it in any way for my own use.

3. Other Information

In addition to the information noted above, I will collect additional information about yourself that you voluntarily provide (collectively, the “Other Information”).

Such Other Information may include:

a. Information From You.

Additional information about yourself that you voluntarily provide, such as my notes taken from our consultation, information that you provide during the creative writing process, and this is used only to create your personal and unique ceremony and will not be shared with any other party.

b. Information From Your Activity.

Information automatically collected when you use the Website, including, without limitation: IP addresses, which may consist of a static or dynamic IP address and will sometimes point to a specific identifiable computer or device; browser type and language; referring and exit pages and URLs; date and time; amount of time spent on particular pages; what sections of the Websites you visit; and similar data; and Information about your device, including the type of device; universally unique ID (“UUID”); advertising identifier (“IDFA”); MAC address; operating system and version (e.g., iOS, Android or Windows); carrier and country location; and similar data.

c. From Cookies.

Information that is collected using “cookie” technology. Cookies are small packets of data that a website stores on your computer’s or mobile device’s hard drive so that your computer will “remember” information about your visit. I may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to collect Other Information and to enhance your experience using the Website. If you do not want me to place a cookie on your hard drive, you may be able to turn that feature off on your computer or mobile device. However, if you decide not to accept cookies from us, the Websites may not function properly.

d. Third-Party Analytics.

I use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to evaluate your use of the Website, compile reports on activity, collect demographic data, analyse performance metrics, and collect and evaluate other information relating to the Website and mobile and Internet usage. These third parties use cookies and other technologies to help analyse and provide data. By accessing and using the Website, you consent to the processing of data about you by these analytics providers in the manner and for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

e. From Other Sources.

We also may collect or receive information from third parties, such as Facebook and/or other third-party social media sites.

f. Information You Share.

Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily make your Personal Information available to third parties — for example on blog posts; through email; during calls; or in comment or chat areas — that information can be seen, collected, heard, and/or used by others besides me. I cannot be responsible for any unauthorised third-party use of such information.

4. How I Use, Share & Protect Information

I use Personal Information, Billing Information, and Other Information (collectively, “Information”) to provide my services; to respond to enquiries; to maintain and improve the Website and services to you; to solicit your feedback, and to inform you about my products and services. I never share your information with third parties unless in the instances below:

• I may employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on my behalf. Examples may include providing technical or marketing assistance. These other companies will have access to the Information only as necessary to perform their functions and to the extent permitted by law.

• To the extent permitted by law, we may also disclose the Information: (i) when required by law, court order, or other government or law enforcement authority or regulatory agency; or (ii) whenever we believe that disclosing such Information is necessary or advisable, for example, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Knight Ceremonies or others.

• Photographic images and or video shared on social media and on my website is all subject to your approval at the booking stage. By signing the contract, you are agreeing to the clause within that states you are happy for these to be shared in order to showcase the style of ceremonies that I create and to help future couples with their decision making during the planning of their wedding.

5. How I Store Information

a) Email Correspondence:

Personal Information is stored from our email correspondence on a server which I access via my password protected Smart Phone and/or Laptop.

b) Database:

I do not have a database and so your details are not stored online in this way.

c) Paperwork:

A paper record of your enquiry and your contact details is created at the time of contacting me. All other personal details pertaining to your relationship and your ceremony are shared via email or skype/phone call and is noted down in order to complete your bespoke script.

After your wedding, this information is stored for my reference for a period of 12 months (as part of my follow-up process, and the sending of anniversary notes or gifts) and then destroyed. I take reasonable steps to protect the Information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Please understand, however, that no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our system, nor can we guarantee that the Information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to and from us over the Internet.

Please take special care in deciding what information you send to us via the Internet. 

6. Changes & Enquiries Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of the date stated at the top of this Privacy Policy. We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. By accessing the Website and/or using our services after we make any such changes to this Privacy Policy, you are deemed to have accepted such changes. Please be aware that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, our use of the Information is governed by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time we collect the Information. Please refer back to this Privacy Policy on a regular basis.
