Kent, the Garden of England, was home to today's outdoor ceremony at the stunning Squerryes Estate. It lived up to it's name as the grounds and gardens were just beautiful. Despite a few clouds early on, the sun shone and the intimate group of guests enjoyed a bespoke and personalised ceremony. The bride and groom shared their own hand written vows, and they created a marriage time capsule, where we put in copies of their vows, along with a bottle of champagne and some secret notes from a selection of their guests. The box was then sealed as part of the ceremony, with the help of their maid of honour, and can be opened on their first anniversary date. The vows can be re-read, the champagne shared and enjoyed, and the contents of the secret notes finally revealed. Its a lovely way to reminisce and can be added to each year as a way to remember all that they have achieved.
The ceremony closed with all guests blowing bubbles as they walked back up the aisle, and to the sounds of a fabulous string quartet. Love was definitely in the air today, and I was honoured to be part of such a warm and joyful ceremony.
